Walking with God is a Choice

July 31, 2019 | Taylor Brown

Walking with God is something that is so crucial in the life of a Christian. I have been challenged more and more as I walk with God through this life that I cannot do it without him. I have to be intentional to take time to dive into conversation with God and listen for his voice.

God is the one that is going to guide me in this life. I need to listen to him or I will be easily swept away. It says in Ephesians 4:14

“As a result, we are no longer to be children tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men by craftiness and in deceitful scheming.”

This verse rings true to our ability to walk with God on a daily basis. When I do not walk with God and stay connected to him I can easily be tossed around by the views of the world and not stay firmly grounded in this Christian life. This is a relationship I always have to remind myself that I am in.

An example that I often think about is a relationship. In a relationship, you have to communicate with one another to make the relationship succeed. If you do not communicate and walk together in life the relationship will fail. This is the way that we have to look at the relationship that we have with God. There needs to be communication on both ends as we walk together through this life.

This is the heart that I have for the students here at Grace. I want to see students live their lives walking with God every day. I want kids to be in their schools and at home listening to what God wants them to do and to be connected with him. The way that this happens though is by investing time into the relationship. We have to care and spend time in this relationship with Christ in order for us to walk with God throughout this life. Walking with God is crucial in this life in a world that is ever-changing and falling from God.
